Ingredients
½ cup steel-cut oats with flax and chia (yields about 1 cup cooked)
1 ½ cups water
2 tbsp brown sugar
3 tsp butter (or butter alternative)
2 tsp ground cinnamon
2 tbsp cream cheese (or dairy-free alternative)
⅛ cup powdered sugar
Splash of milk (any type: dairy, soy, almond, etc.)
Instructions
Cook the Oatmeal:
Follow package instructions: Bring water to a boil, add oats, reduce heat, and simmer for 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Prepare the Cinnamon Mixture:
In a small microwave-safe bowl, combine brown sugar, cinnamon, and butter.
Microwave in 20-second intervals, stirring between each, until melted and warm.
Make the Cream Cheese Drizzle:
In another microwave-safe bowl, warm the cream cheese for 10-15 seconds.
Stir in powdered sugar and a splash of milk until smooth.
Assemble:
Divide the cooked oats into two bowls.
Drizzle each serving with half of the cinnamon mixture and half of the cream cheese topping.
